The Official Buddy Holly Website
June 29, 1999
To anyone who grew up in the 1950's, there is one artist who personified the era. No, I don't mean Elvis, or Jerry Lee Lewis. The one I am referring to had such an impact that today, 40 years after his death, his impact is still felt in the music we hear.
His name is Buddy Holley, and this is his official website. Produced with his wife's active participation, here you can find out just about anything about this Lubbock, Texas boy. For example, did you know that in October 1955, on successive nights, he was the opening act for Bill Haley and the Comets, and Elvis Presley? This and other little known facts are here, as well as an excellent discography, biography, and photo section.
Don McLean referred to the day Buddy died in a plane crash as the day the music died. At this site you can relive some of the memories of the music, and other memories as well.
