The Official Site of Buddy Holly
July 12, 2001
Today's FamSite takes a look at one dedicated to a musician who had a career that lasted barely two years on a national scale, yet has influenced more performers, songwriters, and entertainers than just about anyone. His career was cut short on a cold February night in 1959, a date that has become known as the day the music died.
The site is the Official Site of Buddy Holly. At this site that is maintained by his family, you can read about his life, his rise to fame, and view some great portraits of Buddy. There is ongoing coverage of the tributes and honors that still come his way, such as the city of Green Bay, Wisconsin's recent salute to his wife, Maria Elena Holly. There is a great selection of links to books, records, tapes and CDs that are available for more in-depth information about his career.
John Lennon and Paul McCartney both credit Buddy with having a tremendous influence on their songwriting career. At this site you will be able to see why. Enjoy your stop here today, and come back often.
