The Supreme Court of the United States

There are three main branches of our government, the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial. The Executive is the President, the Legislative is Congress, and the Judicial is the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has been in the news the past few weeks, with the resignation of the first female associate justice, Sandra Day O'Conner, and the health of Chief Justice William Rehnquist. That is why the Judicial Branch of our government is the subject of today's Family First Site.

The Judicial branch of our government is the Supreme Court of the United States. Here at their official website, you can learn about the court, how and why it functions, and the type of cases that it hears. All Justices are appointed by the President for life or until they resign. They must be approved by the Congress before they are seated. This is an example of the checks and balances that our founding fathers wrote into our Constitution.

There is information on the latest cases the court has ruled on, as well as the documents relating to how those cases are handled. Information on how to visit the court, and information on press releases, speeches the justices have given, and phone numbers are also here. In short, this is a tell all site about one of the major branches of government.

Enjoy your visit here today, and spend some time learning how this collection of nine justices impacts our life every day. It will be an educational experience, and one that will be in the mainstream news media in the coming months.

To the Honorable Justices of the Supreme Court All:

In regards to the ban on partial birth abortion. I pray you will consider that this is a barbaric procedure.unworthy of a civilized nation. There is no medical precident for this procedure, and in consideration for the life of the mother there is emergency c section.no full term baby should endure this savage and brutal end.
the unborn are covered by the constitution, and under the constitution are guaranteed life, liberty and the persuit of happiness.i pray you will make the only just decision, and that is to uphold the ban on this horrific and shameful procedure.

    respectfully,
    annette tyler, irving, tx
