Today in Rotten History
April 28, 2008
I love history.
But not all history is pleasant. In fact, some of it is just plain rotten.
However, it's essential that we know history, even the rotten parts.
ESPECIALLY the rotten parts. After all, we all know what they say about those who don't know history being doomed to repeat it.
Today's FamilyFirst pick is called Today in Rotten History.
Each day presents a handful of historical facts that occured on that date. Each has a rotten tinge to it.
For instance, recent entries include the shooting death of John Wilks Boothe, tHermann Goering founds the Geheime Staatspolizei, otherwise known as the Gestapo, and Geraldo Rivera's infamous opening of Al Capone's vault, only to find a couple of empty bottles.
It's fun, and it's educational. Tune in every day for more rotten history.
