I was searching for a new video card for my computer recently. I had a particular model in mind, so I put my fingers to keyboard, and did some looking. I was coming up empty on quite a few sites. Specifically I was hunting for reviews and information on the new ATI All-in-Wonder x600 Pro video card. I was putting a new computer together, and needed to replace my faithful AGP card with a new PCI Express one. Finding information on this card was easy, but in depth reviews was hard - until I came across the subject of today's Family First Site.
The name of the site is called TweakNews.net. I happened across them thanks to the Google search engine, and they had the best in-depth review on this card that I found anywhere. It was 12 pages in length, with plenty of pictures of the board and all the extra cables and boxes. This card uses a new type of connector for ATI, and nobody could tell me anything about it - except for TweakNews.net. But, as I explored the site, I became impressed with 1) the amount of reviews that they currently online and available, but also 2) the depth of the reviews. They don't spend pages and pages with charts showing the performance of a device compared to others, they give a user's perspective, such as what comes in the box, how do you install it, what is the best way to set it up. In the AIW x600 review, they not only show the new connector, they show a picture with all of the external boxes and cables hooked up to the card, both on a table top and installed in a computer.
TweakNews.net not only reviews products, they have an extensive users forum, where visitors can exchange information, installation stories, in general share the wealth of information they have gained through their trials and tribulations. Their goal is to provide a platform for computer elite with useful information concerning the latest developments in hardware and software. What good is a computer when it is not used to its full capacity? The leading edge technical articles will aid in tweaking and stretching your machine to the limits and beyond. In that arena they do not fail. If you see it here, you can believe it. As for the AIW x600 Pro, I haven't decided whether to get it yet or not. But this site gave me the information I was looking for, and you can't ask for much more than that from a site.
