US Census Bureau: State and County QuickFacts

I realize that many of our visitors here are from all over the world. But today's FamilyFirst pick is aimed at the residents of the US of A.

It's called US Census Bureau: State and County QuickFacts.

The site is chock-full of all sorts of info about whatever part of the country you may live in, or may want to know more about.

For example, I did a lookup of my county in Arkansas, Benton. While Arkansas's population grew by a little more than 5% between 2000 and 2006, Benton county grew by a whopping 27%.

That's not too surprising for us long-term Benton county residents.

But then you look at another part of the country, and things change.

Buffalo, NY lost over 10% of its population between 1990 and 2000. The per-capita income is about $24,000, compared to $43,000 for the US as a whole.

That's sobering.

Look up info for any place in the USA, and learn something.
