V V A F Landmine Campaign

It has been several years since the wars in Afghanistan have ended. It has been almost 7 years since Desert Storm blew away to the history books. And, it is still going on in the middle European country of Bosnia. What am I talking about? I am talking about the untold horrors of unexploded land mines. While it may not seem like a topic for everyday consumption, in reality it is. Because all over the world, it is the reality.

The site today is the Vietnam Veterans of America site that is committed to spreading the word, and getting the message out that just because hostilities have stopped, the danger is not over. Explosives such as these know no friend or enemy, only the amount of pressure that it takes to set them off. It doesn't matter whether the war is over or not, or if a peace treaty has been signed, they sit there, waiting.

Take a look at today's site, and reflect on it. There are links to the international movement, one that was near to the heart of the late Diana, Princess of Wales. There is more information here than one will probably want to see and hear. But it is reality, and reality is what we have to deal with.
