Weekly Reader Online

The ability to read can give children the desire to learn, the tools to communicate, and to exercise their imagination. With summer vacation here, finding reading material, and activities to entertain young people can be a challenge. Today's Family First Site is just such a place, from an old school companion.

The site is called Weekly Reader Online, the cyber-companion to the printed pages that strives to entertain and educate children at the same time. There are online games, contests, news and information among other activities. They are divided into appropriate grade levels for navigation purposes, so you don't need to worry about a first grader wandering into an area for teens, and vice versa. There are also sections for parents and teachers, as well as an excellent search engine called the Navigation Station.

Weekly Reader has been around for years. I used to read it when I was in grade school many, many years ago. It is a quality publication then, and continues to be the same today. Their companion website reflects that quality.
