Here you can read about the adventures by Horatio Alger (actually an author, not a character), of Buffalo Bill (his career was made and sustained by the Dime Novel), Ragged Dick, a New York bootblack, Jesse James, California Joe, Frank Merriwell, and Nick Carter, detective. Here you can tour collections, see great cover artwork, take guided tours, and read some samples of this written genre that is almost forgotten today.
