Welcome to the Icelands
August 11, 2005

I don't know what the weather is like where you are, but where I am writing this, it is the warmest it has been for the entire year. Just a few short weeks ago, there was a nation-wide heat wave that had high temp records falling all over the place. With these hot thoughts on our minds, what say we go to a place that is really cool. It is so cool that you can see your breath when you exhale. That is the subject of today's Family First Site.
The name of the site is Welcome to the Icelands. This is a family friendly, child safe site where children (and adults) can learn about polar bears, penguins, and the polar regions of our planet. The site uses the latest Flash Macromedia Technology to deliver this information in a most entertaining way.
There are different areas to visit. They include Songs, Cool Facts, Books, Games, Icecards, and Downloads. Visitors are hosted by Pookie the Penguin and Tushka the Polar Bear. They play games with you, play songs, and tell you all kinds of cool facts about the cold parts of the world. There are pictures of both the North and South Poles, and lots of penguin and polar bear pictures and facts. There is even a Cool Joke of the Day.
This site is a great way to spend a hot summer day. It is, pardon the intentional pun, a cool way to learn about these animals and these regions of the world. Sites like this are a good tool to teach young visitors without their knowing that they are being taught.

Don't just read about them - come visit. Book a night in an ice hotel for a trip you'll never forget. Can you stay cool when the ice hotel warms up?
