Why Linux Is Better

By now, many of you have purchased computers with Vista installed on them. And by now, many of you have formed an opinion of Microsoft's latest offering.

And according to the buzz on the web, many of you aren't happy.

So what can you do? Many of you have downgraded to XP. Some of you have taken the Mac plunge.

But today's FamilyFirst pick is going to show you very simply why Linux is worth giving a try.

It's called Why Linux Is Better.

This guy takes a different approach. He shows you what you can do with Linux that you can't do with Windows.

For instance, you turn on your brand new XP computer, and what do you have? An office suite that will die if you don't cough up cash. Virus/spyware software that will likewise stop updating without digging into your wallet. No way to read pdf files without installing more software. And no way to work with graphics without installing still more software.

Most Linux distributions come pre-loaded with an office suite, built-in pdf reading (and creation!), and a comprehensive graphics editing program. There are no fees, nothing dies because you haven't paid for it.

Oh, but there is no virus/spyware protection. YOU DON'T NEED IT! But if you choose to add it (or anything else), it can be done very easily through a built-in control panel.

So check out Why Linux Is Better and see if you don't agree.
