Wikipedia: Extremes on Earth
June 24, 2008
Hey, friends.
We're going to make a few Wikipedia selections this week as we begin filling out our new category.
Today's FamilyFirst pick is the Wikipedia entry on earth's extremes.
When we talk about extremes, we're talking about the highest, the lowest, the hottest, the coldest, you get the idea.
For instance, what is the coldest place on the planet that is continuously inhabited?
Why, it's Eureka, Nunavut, Canada, with an average daily temperature of -3.46 degrees Fahrenheit.
That's cold!
Here's another: What was the HIGHEST temperature ever recorded on the Antarctic continent?
Would you believe a chilly 58.3 degrees Fahrenheit, way back in 1974?
There are a lot more fascinating extremes. Enjoy...
