Wy-O's Miniature Schnauzers
February 17, 2006
Well, two years after my beloved 14-year-old McDuff had to be put down due to lymphoma, my family and I are back in the schnauzer business!
I just brought home “to be named later” from the breeder. He's a beautiful light salt-and-pepper who is four months old.
So what else could I do except choose a miniature schnauzer website?
I perused several sites, and decided on this one. It's a downhome offering made by folks who are more into their schnauzers than perfect web design. That's okay.
It's called Wy-O's Miniature Schnauzers. Here's their mission:
“We've lived with and loved our Miniature Schnauzers since 1974. Always striving to improve quality, both type and temperament, we've finished thirty five American Kennel Club / AKC Championships so far. We've learned a little during that time, and would like to share some of our experience with you.”
And that they do. For instance, they give lots of good advice on raising puppies. Some dogs are “itchy.” They tell you what dietary cause is likely the culprit and how to avoid it.
Also, they tell you about brushing your dog's teeth. I wish I'd done that with McDuff, he had bad tartar in his later years. I'll be doing that with Duncan (There! He has a name!).
In addition, find out the goods on how to groom, ear cropping, yes or no (I never have been a fan myself), house training, and providing needed discipline. After all, letting your schnauzer give in to his yapping urges is just as unkind as letting your kids run wild.
So enjoy today's site dedicated to my favorite terrier. Duncan gives it his official seal of approval!
